Largest-ever MUSS course comes to an end After the previous two successful summer events - July 2008 and July 2009, the Manchester United Soccer School returned to Cabo and Kilbogget for the Easter break this time - perhaps to beat the dreadful summer weather? The two-day course, which attracted 92 excited participants, finished on Good Friday (April 2), with mini tournaments and the clubhouse presentations. Unfortunately, the weather was similar to that of recent summers, but it certainly didn't quench either the coaches' or players' enthusiasm! During the presentation, it was obvious that the MU coaches - Andy, Steve N., Steve D., Kieran, Richard, Jamie, Clive and Chris - were delighted with all the players and their stay in Cabinteely. It was certainly smiles and laughter all round! Based on their assessments throughout the course, the coaches chose Thomas Livingston as the player who best observed the Code of Conduct throughout the course. Thomas gets to visit Old Trafford and to play on the pitch as South County Dublin's representative. They also had a draw for two tickets to a Premier League game in Old Trafford and these were won by Oscar Hurley. Well done to both lads - they won't forget their two days in the School in a hurry! So, well done to all - players, parents who helped out and coaches - for ensuring that everyone had a great two days! Let's hope that all the players get plenty of opportunity to exhibit their newly-honed skills during the remainder of the season! |
