Cabinteely FC is delighted to announce that it is again hosting the very successful Celtic in the Community coaching camp in Kilbogget Park for the week of July 9-13, 2007. This will be an extremely enjoyable event if it goes in any way as well as the 2006 event. The participants all had a great week and availed of over 20 hours of expert tuition from and football fun with the Celtic Academy coaches. See photos on this page for some of the 2006 course participants during last summer's great weather. Have a look at the details of this great course, featured on Celtic's own website. These include skills & techniques coaching, speed & agility exercises, specialised goalkeeping training, small-sided matches, 'coaches challenge', Celtic Academy technical tests, player progress cards, souvenir goody bag, Tommy Burns, Celtic's Head of Youth, signed attendance certificate and an opportunity to win a Celtic signed shirt! |

As part of the successful 2006 Celtic in the Community training camp all participants received two free match tickets to a pre-selected home Celtic league match. Our DDSL U-10A1 team (plus a few guests!) selected the April 6 home game with Motherwell for their team trip to Glasgow. In all, eleven players plus ten parents travelled to Glasgow on Friday, April 5. Soon after arriving in the hotel it was quickly passed around that the Leinster rugby team were playing a Magner’s League match that evening and, of course the majority of the entourage had to go to see to see them lose to Glasgow Warriors. Some other parents (both committee members!) decided to explore the interiors of some renowned Celtic pubs instead! On the Saturday morning the players went to a local sports centre where they joined in a highly enjoyable two hour training session with Celtic Academy coaches. Then it was off to the match in the afternoon in sunny Celtic Park. Celtic won 1-0 and both players and parents had a very enjoyable afternoon. Everybody then travelled home on the Sunday after having a highly enjoyable experience overall. |
