First morning and all is ready. Danny and the MU |
Once announced, the 2008 Manchester United Soccer School hosted by the club between July 30 and August 1, sold out within a couple of weeks! This three day intensive, yet fun, coaching session was strictly limited to 80 club members and non-members between the ages of eight and eighteen. Irish summer weather aside, the event was an outstanding sucess. The highlight of the final day was when chief coach Mike 'Chally' Challinor (also MU assistant first team coach) announced the names of the five lucky players selected to travel to Old Trafford to play on the hallowed turf (to some)! Some individual elements of the three days were also of value to club coaches, officials and parents. See a selection of pics taken of the final day's presentation. |

The children were treated exceedingly well and were made feel part of Manchester United, especially with their 'passports', at the end of a special few days. Trinity Fund Administration sponsored some nice goody bags for the coaches, who travelled off to different parts of the world to continue their coaching duties. Special thanks are also due to Suzanne McDonald for providing lunch for these mighty men and to Caroline Traynor and Belinda Teehan for all their behind-the-scenes work on the event. |
The final presentation on Friday afternoon. |
